Tryouts

For 2024-25, tryouts will take place during the last week of August and the first three weeks of September.

All prospective players must be pre-registered for tryouts online through the registration system. The link is here.

  • It will require a fee payment of the $20 prior to June 30th (with automatic discount at checkout) or $40 after June 30th. This fee is non-refundable, unless we are unable to offer a team for that gender/age group.
  • We need to be aware of player interest at all age/gender divisions, in order to inform decisions regarding which teams we will be offering in the upcoming year.
  • It is required in order for participants to be covered under club OBA insurance.

2024-25 teams, coaches and tryout dates are posted here. Tryouts will all be at Pretty River Academy. Registered participants will receive an email in August.

All athletes trying out will be provided with occasion to be evaluated in at least two tryouts.

Head Coaches, with club evaluator input, will select a competitive roster comprised of a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 players.

Rep coaches will make every effort to see and evaluate pre-registered athletes in multiple situations, across multiple drills, and across the two tryout experiences, and by multiple coaches. Your rep coaches will work very hard to ensure they are consistently fair to all prospective players and families.

General information about our rep teams is here. Please be familiar with it. Team-specific details such as the schedule, etc., will be provided by the team's coach or manager.

2024-25 Tryouts

  • Location: Pretty River Academy (PRA). Gym locations/directions are described on the link from the website footer.
Here is some very important information for you:

  • Only registered players are eligible to try out.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure that your child is at the tryouts for the correct team. Players cannot opt to play on a higher-age team unless they have prior Club approval. There may be some confusion if you entered the incorrect year of birth when registering, but they are listed on the Tryouts schedule.
  • At tryouts, participants should have proper footwear and should bring their own water bottle, a dark/white reversible shirt if they have one (or else shirts of both colours), and their own basketball if they have one. Balls will be available at tryouts for those who do not have one.

Following tryouts,

  • Team coaches will communicate with families whether or not participants have successfully made the roster.
  • There will be requirements, with short and strict timelines, that families must follow through on, such as:
    • Club registration and payment (with an option to be paid in two installments).
    • Uniform sizing and ordering. For those who have uniforms from last year, we will be using the same ones.
