The Collingwood Trailblazers Basketball Club (the “Club”) is committed to collecting, using and disclosing personal information responsibly and only to the extent necessary for the services that we provide. We also try to be open and transparent as to how we handle personal information. This document describes our privacy policies.

What Is Personal Information?

Personal information is information about an identifiable individual. It includes information that relates to personal characteristics, health, history, activities and views. Personal information does not include business information (business address and phone number) which is not protected by privacy legislation.

How Do We Collect Your Information?

We are moving to collecting most of our information on our website (the “Site”) which we maintain in order to provide you with information pertaining to the Club and for the purposes of marketing the Club to the general public. Some information will be collected by coaches. Parts of our site are public domain. When you supply personal information on the Site, the Club will use the information for the following purposes:

  • The collection of your contact information, including phone numbers, emails and home address in order for the club, your team members and coaches to contact you. This information may be posted on the password –protected team page on our Site, but would not be accessible to the general public.
  • The collection of team photos and individual photographs of team players, for posting on the site and promotion of the club to the general public. These pictures may only be posted on your password protected team page, or they may be on that part of the Site that is accessible to the general public. Please note that if you do not wish your child’s picture to be the Club on the Site at all, or for promotional purposes, please send this request to us, in writing.
  • The collection of credit card information (through our registration system) to collect registration fees for Club players.
  • To contact you with respect to issues pertaining to the Club and information about the Club –related activities, events and news. We may contact you via e-mail, mail or telephone, as the need arises. If you do not wish to be on our mailing list, please provide us with this request in writing.
  • Certain basic information about our players is provided to Ontario Basketball as part of our registration process with them. Please note that we may also release your personal information if required to do so by law, or by search warrant, subpoena or court order.

Security of Information

All personal information is maintained in confidence by the Club and we will take reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorized access, modification or misuse of your personal information. Unless otherwise disclosed during collection or in this policy, the Club does not provide any personal information to any third party for any purpose whatsoever.

The site contains links to other sites. Please note we are not responsible for the privacy practices of third party websites. We encourage you to be aware of this when you leave the Site and to read the privacy policy of every website that collects personally identifiable information from you. This policy applies only to the Site.

Changes to Our Policy

The Club reserves the right to modify or remove this policy at our discretion, we will post any modification to the policy here at this Site and we encourage you to visit this area frequently to stay informed.
